I bought the car in original condition 11-12 years ago. I took it down to the bare frame and added all the kits to install a GM crate HO/345hp ZZZmotor, turbo400, 9 inch Ford rear, four wheel discs, etc... Once the drivetrain was finished I wanted to drive it so bad that I put the old body(with a new Bitchin floor/firewall) back on and never painted it. I like all styles of rods but since I get so many comments on the car with this old antique Ford cream paint job and the rust holes in the doors I haven't painted it. I decided to go with the original look with the biggest whitewalls I could find on some old steel wheels. I did make the car have suicide doors but I left the door handle in the original location so when I open the door it confuses people. Lately I've been taking it to the dragstrip and running 13.72 in the 1/4mile with these big whitewalls. Now I've got the bug again and I want to see if I can put in a 500hp motor and run in the low 12s on the whitewalls ! I'm probably dreaming... All the folks at the track get a kick out of seeing this old car run as well as it does.
